1 そのころ、全世界の住民登録をせよという勅令が、皇帝アウグストから出た。
2 これは、クレニオがシリヤの総督であったときの最初の住民登録であった。
3 それで、人々はみな、登録のために、それぞれ自分の町に向かって行った。
4 ヨセフもガリラヤの町ナザレから、ユダヤのベツレヘムというダビデの町へ上って行った。彼は、ダビデの家系であり血筋でもあったので、
5 身重になっているいいなずけの妻マリヤもいっしょに登録するためであった。
6 ところが、彼らがそこにいる間に、マリヤは月が満ちて、
7 男子の初子を産んだ。それで、布にくるんで、飼葉おけに寝かせた。宿屋には彼らのいる場所がなかったからである。
8 さて、この土地に、羊飼いたちが、野宿で夜番をしながら羊の群れを見守っていた。
9 すると、主の使いが彼らのところに来て、主の栄光が回りを照らしたので、彼らはひどく恐れた。
10 御使いは彼らに言った。「恐れることはありません。今、私はこの民全体のためのすばらしい喜びを知らせに来たのです。
11 きょうダビデの町で、あなたがたのために、救い主がお生まれになりました。この方こそ主キリストです。
12 あなたがたは、布にくるまって飼葉おけに寝ておられるみどりごを見つけます。これが、あなたがたのためのしるしです。」
13 すると、たちまち、その御使いといっしょに、多くの天の軍勢が現れて、神を賛美して言った。
14 「いと高き所に、栄光が、神にあるように。地の上に、平和が、御心にかなう人々にあるように。」
15 御使いたちが彼らを離れて天に帰ったとき、羊飼いたちは互いに話し合った。「さあ、ベツレヘムに行って、主が私たちに知らせてくださったこの出来事を見て来よう。」
1.全てを支配する神の御思いと計画
ミカ５：２「ベルレヘム・エフラテよ。あなたはユダの氏族の中で最も小さいものだが、あなたのうちから、わたしのために、イスラエルの支配者になる者が出る。その出ることは、昔から、永遠の昔からの定めである。」
２コリント４：１８「私たちは、見えるものにではなく、見えないものにこそ目を留めます。見えるものは一時的であり、見えないものはいつまでも続くからです。」
2.あなたの心に救い主をお迎えする

「The First Christmas In Bethlehem」
2 1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
