1このようにキリストは、肉体において苦しみを受けられたのですから、あなたがたも同じ心構えで自分を武装しなさい。肉体において苦しみを受けた人は、罪との関わりを断ち切ったのです。
2それは、もはや人間の欲望によってではなく、神のみこころによって、肉体における残りの時を生きるためです。
3あなたがたが異邦人たちの思いのままに生きていた過去の時は、それで十分です。好色、情欲、酩酊、宴会、遊興、そして、忌むべき偶像礼拝にふけりました。
4彼らは、あなたがたが自分たちと同じ放蕩に走らないので、不思議に思い、そしります。
5彼らは、生きている人々をも死んだ人々をもさばこうとしておられる方に、申し開きをしなければなりません。
6死んだ人々にも福音が宣べ伝えられていたのは、彼らが肉体においては人間としてさばかれても、霊においては神によって生きるようになるためでした。
1.みこころのために過ごす

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.
As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.
But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
