12 愛する者たち。あなたがたを試みようとして、あなたがたの間に来ている火のような試練を、何か思いがけないことが起こったかのように、驚き怪しんではなりません。
13 むしろ、キリストの苦しみにあずかれるのですから、喜んでいなさい。それは、キリストの栄光が現れる時にも、喜びにあふれて喜ぶ者となるためです。
14 もしキリストの名のために非難を受けるなら、あなたがたは幸いです。栄光の御霊、すなわち神の御霊が、あなたがたの上にとどまってくださるのです。
15 あなたがたのうちのだれも、人殺し、盗人、悪を行う者、人のことに干渉する者として苦しみを受けることのないようにしなさい。
16 しかし、クリスチャンとして苦しみを受けるのなら、恥じることはありません。かえって、そのことによって神をあがめなさい。
17 というのは、さばきが神の家から始まる時が来ているからです。それがまず私たちから始まるのだとしたら、神の福音に従わない者たちの結末は、どうなるのでしょう。
18 「正しい者が、かろうじて救われるのなら、不敬虔な者や罪人は、いったいどうなるのか。」
19 ですから、神のみこころに従って苦しみを受けている人たちは、善を行いつつ、真実であられる創造者に、自分のたましいをゆだねなさい。
1.疑わずに進んで行きなさい
マタイ１４：３０〜３１「30ところが、風を見て、こわくなり、沈みかけたので叫び出し、「主よ、助けてください」と言った。31 そこで、イエスはすぐに手を伸ばして、彼をつかんで言われた。「信仰の薄い人だな。なぜ疑うのか。」
イザヤ４１：１０「恐れるな。わたしがあなたとともにいるからだ。たじろぐな。わたしがあなたの神だからだ。わたしはあなたを強くし、あなたを助け、わたしの義の右の手で、あなたを守る。」
詩篇４６：１〜２「神はわれらの避けどころ、また力。苦しむとき、そこにある強き助け。それゆえ、われらは恐れない。たとい地が変わり、山々が揺れ、海の真中に移ろうとも。」
