ルカの福音書 7:1-10 メッセージ31「百人隊長の信仰」

1 イエスは、耳を傾けている民衆にこれらのことばをみな話し終えられると、カペナウムに入られた。
2 ところが、ある百人隊長に重んじられているひとりのしもべが、病気で死にかけていた。
3 百人隊長は、イエスのことを聞き、みもとにユダヤ人の長老たちを送って、しもべを助けに来てくださるようお願いした。
4 イエスのもとに来たその人たちは、熱心にお願いして言った。「この人は、あなたにそうしていただく資格のある人です。
5 この人は、私たちの国民を愛し、私たちのために会堂を建ててくれた人です。」
6 イエスは、彼らといっしょに行かれた。そして、百人隊長の家からあまり遠くない所に来られたとき、百人隊長は友人たちに使いに出して、イエスに伝えた。「主よ。わざわざおいでくださいませんように。あなたを私の屋根の下にお入れする資格は、私にはありません。
7 ですから、私のほうからお伺うことさえ失礼と存じました。ただ、おことばをいただかせてください。そうすれば、私のしもべは必ずいやされます。
8 と申しますのは、私も権威の下にある者ですが、私の下にも兵士たちがいまして、そのひとりに『行け』と言えば行きますし、別の者に『来い』と言えば来ます。また、しもべに『これをせよ』と言えば、そのとおりにいたします。
9 これを聞いて、イエスは驚かれ、ついて来ていた群集のほうに向いて言われた。「あなたがたに言いますが、このようなりっぱな信仰は、イスラエルの中にも見たことがありません。」
10 使いに来た人たちが家に帰ってみると、しもべはよくなっていた。

Luke 7:1~10“he Faith Of The Centurion”

1When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum. 2 There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die. 3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant. 4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this, 5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.” 6 So Jesus went with them.

He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. 7 That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. 8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.
