20 大きな家には、金や銀の器だけでなく、木や土の器もあります。また、ある物は尊いことに、ある物は卑しいことに用います。
21 ですから、だれでも自分自身をきよめて、これらのことを離れるなら、その人は尊いことに使われる器となります。すなわち、聖められたもの、主人にとって有益なもの、あらゆる良いわざに間に合うものとなるのです。
22 それで、あなたは、若い時の情欲を避け、きよい心で主を呼び求める人たちとともに、義と信仰と愛と平和を追い求めなさい。
23 愚かで、無知な思弁を避けなさい。それが争いのもとであることは、あなたが知っているとおりです。
24 主のしもべが争ってはいけません。むしろ、すべての人に優しく、よく教え、よく忍び、
25 反対する人たちを柔和な心で訓戒しなさい。もしかすると、神は彼らに悔い改めの心を与えて真理を悟らせてくださるでしょう。
26 それで悪魔に捕らえられて思うままにされている人々でも、目ざめてそのわなをのがれることもあるでしょう。
イザヤ４３：４「わたしの目には、あなたは高価で尊い。わたしはあなたを愛している。だからわたしは人をあなたの代わりにし、国民をあなたのいのちの代わりにするのだ。」

2Tim2:20~26
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, [h]sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.(NKJ)
