２ペテロ３：１６−１８

16 その中で、ほかのすべての手紙でもそうなのですが、このことについて語っています。その手紙の中には理解しにくいところもあります。無知な、心の定まらない人たちは、聖書の他の個所の場合もそうするのですが、それらの手紙を曲解し、自分自身に滅びを招いています。
17 愛する人たち。そういうわけですから、このことをあらかじめ知っておいて、よく気をつけ、無節操な者たちの迷いに誘い込まれて自分自身の堅実さを失うことにならないようにしなさい。
18 私たちの主であり救い主であるイエス・キリストの恵みと知識において成長しなさい。このキリストに、栄光が、今も永遠の日に至るまでもありますように。アーメン。

His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.

18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
